I believe we all know about “waste” which is also known as “rubbish”.
This are items that are no longer needed in a particular place. examples of this items are paper, bottle, rags and all sorts of unwanted and broken items that are found around the compound or inside the house.
If waste are not disposed properly or taking out of the house or the compound, It can lead to a very great environmental health problem because of its unpleasant smell and also if you have other sharp objects around the house, it can cause injury and this can lead to high spread of disease.
For example if you have a broken bottle in your compound and you can get yourself cut with the broken item or broken wood or metal like iron, so these items too can spread germs to our body and also to our food. This items or rubbish are not to be dropped or left around the house or compound. It is very advisable that they should be disposed of properly or kept in a storage place where it can be disposed.
Waste can cause diseases in different ways. So note if foods remains or particles and left lying around the house in a warm area and when it get rotten, it can come up with germs. If people or other animals come in contact with that area, unlike rat and flies. By the time they touch the surface of this contaminated area. Both human and this animals can easily contact diseases from the surface. For example, germs can easily get to people’s food if you come in contact with this animals that must have contacted the diseases. animals like rat, cockroach, flies etc. There are some diseases that are caused by this germs when it come in contact with humans or animals. We have diseases such as skin infection, tetanus, hepatitis trachoma, hookworm and threadworm.
Note, this germs can be transferred from this waste to humans especially when we come in contact with its surface. germs and parasite for example. If you come in contact with a “waste” in a particular area, after touching it and failing to wash the hands or freshen up your body on time. It can easily generate to a disease. Diseases can also indirectly be transferred to people especially when we don’t keep our environment clean, when we always leave our compound messed up. so this creepy animals always have a place to hide and stay.
We have some animals like “vectors” that always stay around us, they are called so because they are disease spreading animals and others like mosquitoes, rats, flies e.t.c. So it is advisable and recommended that we shouldn’t leave waste or rubbish to be lying around the house premises because failure to do so, we create a room for all this “vectors” and other disease-spreading animals to walk around the house and cause food poisoning and other skin-related infections directly to our food and our body.
